The Storyteller’s Picnic: of Knights and Dragons
April 23, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm UTC+0£5
A virtual gathering of storytelling talent from across the country on St. Georges day to tell Tales of Knights, Saints, and of course, Dragons
Cliff, The Travelling Talesman, (currently remarkably static) hosts this virtual live event for the Art House Cafe, Southampton. Bringing together The honeyed tones of Giles Abbott; “Londons resident storyteller” (Time Out) Vanessa Wolf-Hoyle; the master of enchantment, Mike Dodsworth; and The British Museum’s own Kate Orr to swap scaly yarns from around the world.
Although one of the joys of online entertainment is being able to stay in your jimjams, this is also the nearest you can get to going out for the night so feel free to get togged up! We very much enjoy seeing every medieval maiden, noble knight, spiritual saint or deadly dragon, and yes, steadfast steeds, sidekicks and totally unrelated steampunks, sirens, spacemen or squirrels are also very much welcome!
Tickets are by donation – pay what you can (suggested £5) to support otherwise out-of-work artists! We will split this between the storytellers and The Art House (so we can hold on to our furloughed staff for as long as possible!)
Tickets are here: https://dragonpicnic1432.eventbrite.co.uk
You will be sent the Zoom link by email after your ticket purchase. Thank you, and enjoy the evening!
